NOTICE OF GRANT FOR FOLLOW-ON TESOL UNCONFERENCE PROPOSALS

 Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF)

 

We are pleased to announce a Notice of Grants for the follow-on TESOL Unconference, featuring the theme ‘TRANSFORMING ENGLISH EDUCATION TOGETHER.’ We seek proposals from interested educators and higher educational institutions (HEIs) that meet the eligibility requirements mentioned below to replicate the TESOL Unconference model.

This support comes from the TESOL Unconference: Unleash Innovative Ideas to Transform English Education, an AEIF 2023-winning project funded by the U.S. Department of State. The TESOL Unconference project aims to promote innovative English teaching and learning methods through Unconferences, creating an environment for exchange, and experience sharing, as well as developing a dynamic, interactive, and creative community of English teachers, especially those working in colleges, universities, and HEIs in the Mekong Delta and Southeastern provinces.

Objectives

  • contribute to the professional development of English teachers;
  • encourage innovative English teaching and learning methods, especially in the Industry 4.0;
  • create an environment for exchange and experience sharing;
  • developing a dynamic, interactive, and creative community of English teachers;

Eligibility

  • English teachers and HEIs interested in organizing a TESOL Unconference, and having participated in the TESOL Unconferencevn01 at Tan Tao University, and/or TESOL Unconferencevn02 at Ba Ria-Vung Tau College of Education;
  • HEIs committed to replicating the TESOL Unconference model.

Support

  • Financial support for organizing two separate Unconferences by two individuals/ HEIs, with the amount of $1,000 each;
  • Consultation and guidance support for organizing the events.

3.Proposals should be submitted via the following link https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1oJFzshGUHvHgNxhrKKvzGQBJZKIqJni6 by 11:59 P.M., May 15, 2024.

  1. The result will be announced between May 17 – 20, 2024 and the Unconferences are suggested to be hosted between June 21, 2024 and July 12, 2024.

Review and Selection Criteria

  • Relevance to application theme
  • Purpose and summary, description, and implementation plan
  • Participation and support from institutions/local partner
  • Evaluation and impact of the proposed project
  • Communication, media, and outreach plan
  • Budget and budget narrative

Grant Administration and Contact Information

Grant Administration

The grant will be written, signed, awarded, and administered by the Unconference Project Team Lead. If a proposal is selected for funding, the Unconference Project Team has no obligation to provide any additional future funding or costs incurred in preparing and submitting proposals. Further, the Unconference Project Team reserves the right to reject any proposals received that fail to meet the requirements.
